Happiness Is Helping Others…

Happy African Women

“Did you know that your serotonin will increase, and your depression will decrease – just by doing good deeds and being nice to others”, says Dr. Sue.

Serotonin is a “feel-good” hormone that is manufactured by the brain. How does doing good deeds increase your serotonin?

Francesca  Borgonovi  completed  a powerful study entitled “Doing well by doing good: The relationship between formal volunteering and self-reported health and happiness.”

Ms. Borgonovi found that “people who volunteer report better health and greater happiness than people who do not …volunteering might contribute to happiness levels by increasing empathic emotions…”

“Even the bible says we were put here to be a blessing to others, says Dr. Sue.”
